Realtime leaderboard for international golf events

The Challenge

Our client wanted to replace an existing solution with something that was both more cost-effective and more flexible. We would need to take live scoring feeds from the Ladies European Tour events and display them in real-time. What we created would be shown on the screens in hospitality areas and the large screens out on the course. Each event is three days, for the first two days all golfers are playing both an individual game and a team game. There is a cut for the final day, which is individuals only.

The display needed to have customisable sponsorship options. The solution should ideally run in the cloud, avoiding the need for any additional onsite setup or configuration.

Our Approach

• Developed a bespoke interface to transform raw scoring data into branded visuals
• Produced displays for both individual player scores and team events
• Created a lightweight cloud-hosted solution for simple deployment, configuration, and usage
• Integrated sponsorship banners and tickers, configurable per event
• Integrated Rolex time display
• Developed interchangeable skins for the two main title partners

Outcomes

• Reduced the per-event costs by over 50%
• Delivered greater control over branding, versatility, and visual impact
• Worked remotely with the onsite technical staging teams to support events in multiple countries and timezones, including UK, USA, China, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia
